London, June 19 (ANI): Victoria Beckham recently defied one of her mother’s style rules- by wearing tops with horizontal stripes.
Posh, who is wearing a horizontal stripe top on the cover of the paperback edition of her best-seller, That Extra Half An Inch, revealed that she had to butter-up her mom to let her break the rules. "In the last edition I said I was wary of tops with horizontal stripes. One of my mother's style rules was never to wear horizontal stripes, and that always stayed with me - until recently,” the Mirror quoted her, as saying.
The former Spice Girl, who launched her range of dVb denims in New York last week, also apologized to her mother, but maintained that striped shirts can in fact look very classy. "Sorry, Mum, I just had to break a few rules here and there. I have found that a slinky striped sweater dress or fitted T can actually look very stylish,” she said.
"My mum's other style tip, incidentally, is don't eat beetroot because it stains - and I never have to this day,” she added.
