It's that time of year again...
Big Brother is back! Despite the controversy caused in the last Celebrity Big Brother Channel 4 and Endemol have joined forces again to bring us yet another summer of life consuming reality TV. Last year's main sponsors Car Phone Warehouse have been replaced by Virgin Media, sparking rumours that Richard Branson himself may make a guest appearance on the show to deliver a task.
What truth there is in that remains to be seen. Other rumours rubbished by Davina during this year's launch show included that BB producers are planning for 2 housemates to marry during this year's show, that one of the housemates had gone missing and that the house was to blown up in this year's final show. One rumour that did turn out to be true though is that all the housemates (so far) are female.
11 girls entered the house on Wednesday May 30, 2007 ranging between 18 year old identical twins Sam Mandy who love everything pink and 60 year old retired head hunter, Lesley. Other characters so far worth noting are 36 year old Tracy whose catch phrases 'aving it and phat are bound to wear thin pretty quick, 19 year old Chanelle who idolises and models herself on Victoria Beckham, 19 year old Emily who thinks Indie music is a new phenomenon and 21 year old Charley who was bought a mini by her cousin, Manchester United footballer Kieran Richardson. The other so far all seem pretty normal (well as normal as a Big Brother housemate can be!
) but that could all change! In a twist unknown to the girls, this Friday will see one male housemate entering the house. What will be interesting to watch will be whether this will be heaven or hell for the unsuspecting lad!
