A NEW STAR WARS!
George Lucas and Mark Hamill will reunite for Robot Chicken: Star Wars, a 30-minute stop-motion animation special for Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's late-night programming block. The special spoofs key scenes and favourite characters from the Star Wars universe.

Lucas, the Star Wars franchise creator, will voice a cartoon version of himself, and Hamill will resurrect Luke Skywalker. The special, set to premiere at 10 p.m.

on June 17, also includes Conan O'Brien, Seth MacFarlane, Robert Smigel, Hulk Hogan and Joey Fatone. The Hollywood Reporter

Sylvester Stallone has provided medical documents to Australia's custom officials after being charged with importing 48 vials of banned human growth hormone, his lawyer told a Sydney court on Tuesday.

Stallone, left, the star of the recent blockbuster boxing sequel Rocky Balboa, has not yet entered a plea and was not in the Sydney court for the brief hearing. His case was adjourned until May 15 to allow customs to examine Stallone's medical material, which was not revealed in the Australian court. Reuters
Authors and illustrators nominated to the short list for the 2007 Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children's Book Awards were announced yesterday.

The authors and illustrators -- whose young adult and children's works include Odd Man Out, I Am a Taxi and Snow--come from all over Canada, including Edmonton, Saskatoon, St. John's, Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Simcoe, Peterborough, Perth and Millbrook. The prizes, awarded by two juries of school children from Parkdale Public School in Toronto, will review the books and announce the winners on June 1.

Francis Bacon thought they were rubbish, but the painter's discarded works raised nearly ?1-million at auction, newspapers reported yesterday. Electrician Mac Robertson, while working at Bacon's west London studio in 1978, persuaded the artist to let him keep material earmarked for the trash.

The discarded paintings, diaries, photographs and check stubs fetched ?965,490 ($2.54-million) at auction Tuesday.

In February, Christie's sold a Bacon painting belonging to Italian actress Sophia Loren for ?14.2 million ($31.
