Scoop NEWS by TOPIC You can help Womens Refuge The competition called for anyone in the world under the age of 30 to dream up a non-traditional media campaign in support of Oxfam s Make The joint winners of Make a Big Noise for Make Trade Fair are: Ryan Holland, James Robbins and Tomoko Izumoto - VCU AD Center, School of Mass Communication, United States. Lucy Clark and Jenny Phillips Independents, UK 3. John Palmer and Tsieske Van Den Broek - Boiler Room, Australia.

All three teams were awarded Gold and it is proposed that elements of each entry will be combined to form one global, non-traditional media campaign for Oxfam International in 2008. makeabignoise.org It was a great privilege to be part of judging such a diverse and exciting set of entries , says Tom Roope, competition judge and Creative Director of The Rumpus Room. Seeing the passion for the issues surrounding the campaign and the talent of the entrants was really an inspiring experience .

Make a Big Noise for Make Trade Fair was conceived and executed by contemporary communications company, The Rumpus Room, sister organisation to production company, The Sweet Shop, and run in partnership with the annual Young Guns competition. Oxfam has been at the forefront of campaigns using new and sophisticated messaging. Other highly visible international campaigns Oxfam have been involved in include Make Poverty History and Control Arms.

In 2005 they launched the internationally acclaimed dumping shots featuring Colin Firth, Minnie Driver, Bono, Tom Yorke, Gael Garcia Bernal, The Finn Brothers and Damon Albarn to bring attention to the Make Trade Fair campaign. We re hugely excited by the winning ideas and their ability to communicate the campaign message in a non-traditional way. We now look forward to bringing them to life with our partners as part of a global initiative with Oxfam International , says Paul Prince, Managing Director of The Sweet Shop NZ.
