3:05PM Monday May 28, 2007 >> Have you seen Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End? Did you understand the film's plot and did you enjoy the film?

It was expected to be the hit of 2007. Instead, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End has been met with lukewarm reception, failing to break any of the expected box office records.
The film made US$112.

5 million (NZ$155m) at the American box office this weekend, well behind last year's US$135.6 million opening weekend for its predecessor Dead Man's Chest.
Critics have also been underwhelmed by the film, with many citing an overly complicated plot.

New York Post reviewer Lou Lumenick gave the film just two stars out of five and said "It's not a total shipwreck, but abandon hope all ye seeking a coherent, much less satisfying, narrative. Expect instead a reported $300 million worth of eye candy, delivered with enormous technical skill."
With a rating of three out of five, The Washington Post was slightly more favourable, describing the film as: "A lavish spectacle illuminated by Johnny Depp's swishing pirate captain, the movie has its dull moments, but not many.

"
Britain's Independent newspaper slated the film, which critic Anthony Quinn gave just one star.
