I thought Twisted Pictures, home of the Saw films, were not going to be in the buisness of remaking films. I guess I was wrong. Today RKO Pictures has embarked on a joint venture with Twisted to remake four genre films from RKO's library.
The companies will co-finance development and production of "The Body Snatcher," a 1945 Robert Wise-directed thriller that starred Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff; the 1943 pic "I Walked With a Zombie"; and the 1946 Karloff starrer "Bedlam." The fourth film has yet to be selected. Each of the films will be made with a budget of $10-$20 million.
Unfortunately co-president of Twisted Pictures Mark Burg says, " If these films go well, we hope it leads to more. " Great, get ready for plenty more remakes folks. Thoughts or comments?
