Paul McCartney performs 'intimate' London gig

Celebrating the release of his new album , McCartney, 64, played at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, north London in a gig that was only announced Thursday morning, with tickets given away free on a first-come, first-served basis. "It's a little while since I played a gig like this," he told the audience. Tickets were snapped up in just 13 minutes as fans queued around the block.

Also present for the show were a host of celebrities, including former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan, supermodel Kate Moss, pop singer Gareth Gates, and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. McCartney's 90-minute performance included hits from his days as a member of The Beatles, as well as songs from his new album, as he was joined on stage with his four-piece band.
