Judge pleased with Mel's progress

Mel Gibson has from the judge overseeing the alcohol rehabilitation program he was ordered to undertake after being arrested for drunken-driving last year.


The judge said he believed Mel's AA program had been effective.

"I know his extensive participation in a self-help program - and I should note he has done extensive work, beyond which was required."

Mel has to appear in court in August for a final progress report.
