I'm fairly certain the subject for this post isn't a real word, so as of now it IS a real word, at least in Paraguay. About 3 weeks ago, I went to Melbourne for the week for a barmitzva and haven't written much since just before that. It was a good week, and I found I had an addiction to sugarfree, glutenfree, fatfree chocolate fudge sticks, which by the way, are awesome.
We don't get them in Perth, I bought a 50pack for $18 :) (And they're kosher!)
I left for Tel Aviv with the Melbourne Tafnit and MTA groups and caught up with the Perth and Melbourne MTA people at the airport, and then the kiwis, the safs, and the rest of the .au crew at Bnei Bayit in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem for you non-jews) which has an AWESOME pizza place near it, it was 40sheq for a pizza about the size of a 21" monitor, so 8 slices, and that easily feeds 3-4 people, so I shared 1 with Brendan (omg Matt being friends with a saf?
! NO WAI!) :P 40sheq is about AU$12 or US$10 something like that, anyway it's cheap and good, they plait the crust like a challah and stuff it with cheese, it was as thick as my wrist.
We drove from Yerushalayim to a hole called Migdal Os, its almost as bad as Adelaide imo. We stayed for 5 days, and hated it there, it was freezing, the rooms were crappy, and our toilet had a smell thats gonna outlast religeon. That was a kinda initiation thing, so meh.
We moved further north and split the group up between 2 kibbutzim about half an hour from Teveria (Tiberius) at Beis Shan (Beit She'an) which s supposedly the gateway to heaven when we die, as in, our souls travel to Yerushalayim, see the ruins, then go north thru Beis Shan and enter heaven there. So I'm on Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu with 29 others, and the other 18 of us are on Kibbutz En HaNaziv. En HaNaziv has cooler jobs, but their food and stuff gets rationed, so our Kibbutz is better.
I got roped into dishwashing for 2 weeks, which was cool for the first 3 days, cos it's a bigass machine, but now I'm over it. Started working in the fields on a HUGE tractor planting tomatoes which is cool.
Went to Teveria a few days ago which was interesting.
Then for the weekend I went to Yerushalayim and stayed at Eretz Hatzvi Yeshiva. Crashed in Birri and Mogli's room, and had a good weekend. We went to the Ben Yehuda Markets (Shuk) and bought fewdz and BB Guns, I didn't have cash on me, so I got shot point blank as a wakeup in the morning.
It was funky tho, we had 8 of us in an apartment made for 4, so I was sleeping in the corridor between the rooms and the kitchen, and 2 guys were in the kitchen, and the rest elsewhere lols. On saturday night we went to Ben Yehuda and bought something I don't want to talk about, or consume ever again, but if someone ever offers you "20shek nekita" say NO FUCKING WAY. After that, I got a few shots of finlandia to kill that horrible taste, and then went to a bar with some mates to pick up some gin, then to Mikes Place to catch up with friends, then I woke up in Hoff's apartment at 9am and he was like "ugh.
...
how did I get home?" I'm still not sure how I made it to his room either. But the waitress at the bar reminded me to Dora from QC :S
I'm getting a killer cold, cough, and ear infection, so I don't have to work for a few days, the downside is I can't listen to music unless I borrow Benny's speakers.
Talking to Bianca on msn, it's kinda wierd that she's in another country. And Kristen Lee, get your ass online! Um yeah.
Been catching up with comics, Jeph is a bad bad man, but I'm too lazy to get on IRC and tell him, seriously, Valentines Day means jokes about necrophilia and sex with coma patients is appropriate? Whatever dude.
Been listening to some albums I got several months ago but couldn't be bothered listening to, for example Move Along by The Good, from Newcastle is you're interested, that Jamie got me, and it's actually damn good.
The same goes for The Ugly Organ by Cursive which is hell of awesome. Especially the song Driftwood, its like liquid sex, total eargasm. Checked out Boys and Grls in America by The Hold Steady, not as impressed, but it's descent.
Really waiting for Moletopopolis by Deathmole to get finalised and released, the demo songs were awesome.
I've spent a lot of time on the phone, just not to my parental units. Like almost an hour calling Amanda every second or third day ~ 3 She went to see Ghost Rider, which isn't out yet here, but looks awesome.
This post is getting kinda long, like waicon-aftermath-post-length, so yeah, found some random friends from Melbourne, the US, and Perth here tho which was cool, anyway, until next time, I'll be on IRC and MSN for a while.
PS: Random lyrics from the song I'm listening to by Cursive: "My ego's like my stomach, it keeps shitting what I feel" Yay for bands that make an emo song to mess with emokids!
