A CANADIAN history magazine aims to blow away the country's somewhat boring stereotype with a poll to find the country's "most foul, useless, maligning and destructive human forces".
"Our international reputation has us as this very nice, quiet, friendly place," said Deborah Morrison, the president of Canada's National History Society, which publishes the Beaver magazine.
"We thought it would be fun to show people our seamier side and look at some of our more villainous characters.
"
So far, visitors to the magazine's website at www.thebeaver.ca have nominated pop singers Celine Dion and Shania Twain, as well as criminals and prime ministers, she said.
You know a nation is pretty comfortable with its global reputation when it thinks it would be fun to showcase its villains.
Why we have plenty of them..
.there's..
.wait..
.oh yes, I know for a fact that Glen Ford forgot to say thank you to a waiter at a gala luncheon in Hollywood once.
Blackguard.
eh!
Scullion, does Beaver magazine only take nominations for women candidates. If so Glen Ford is out.
I think it is open to men too as we've only had one female prime minister (for 20 minutes as I recall).
However, I think that there will only be villainesses as Canadian men are all straight shooters-including the gay ones.
