Nude Paris Hilton Search Won't Yield Virus

Search marketers take note: McAfee SiteAdvisor group has released its latest State of Search Engine Safety report, which concludes among other things, that searches for nude pictures of Paris Hilton were far less likely to result in viruses than searches for Britney Spears, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. According to McAfee, search for "Britney Spears nude" ranked No. 1 in terms of risk, beating out "free porn.

" The study also found that AOL returned the safest result of any major search engine, while Yahoo! had the most risky returns. However, results linking to risky websites declined overall, dropping from 5 percent in 2006, to 4 percent this year.

The study cited the rise of sponsored results as a key factor in improving online search safety.
