Thousands of people turned out for Austin's First Night Sunday December 31, 2006. Those who attended were treated to dozens of activities, including a uniquely Austin parade.

A Central Texas family is getting a new home thanks to a popular ABC reality show. Construction is continuing on a new custom home for the O'Donnell family and their six children. The O'Donnells were surprised on Sunday and sent out of town for the week so "Extreme Home Makeover" could go to work.

An EMS spokesperson says a twin engine plane crashed at 13212 N. Lamar Boulevard. It went down just before 8:30 a.

m. near the track at Connally High School in North Austin. Authorities say the only person on board the plane did not survive.
