New York, NY (AHN) - The 24-hour music extravaganza Live Earth has been and gone. The aftermath from the international concert and push for cleaner living has received mix reviews and success. With two billion people watching the event via live concert, television, radio and Internet streaming, the concerts on each continent had a high expectation to meet.

A reported record of 10 million people logged on to the Internet to view the performances from Australia, America, Brazil, Germany, England, Japan, China and South Africa. Some of the biggest acts in the world, including The Police, Shakira, Rhianna, John Mayer, Madonna, Fall Out Boy and Kelly Clarkson rocked for a greener globe. President and chief media officer of MSN, Joanne Bradfor, whose company is streaming the video footage, said, "History is being made today.

Millions of people around the world have joined together to fight the climate crisis." FoxNews.com is critical of the events ambitions, saying, "The globe-spanning event was a well-intentioned effort, but will it jump-start people into action?

Judging from the show in New Jersey - both in terms of its execution and the response from the crowd - one would certainly be justified in being sceptical." Overpriced merchandise and pollution from the concerts has so far overshadowed the efforts by the performers to spread the concerns of global warming. Stars involved in the event included the famously green Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and ideas man Al Gore.
