Avril's life just got Complicated LAST WEEK was a tough one for Avril Lavigne. First, the Canadian media picked up on a magazine story in which fellow Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk essentially accused Lavigne of stealing a song. Then word came that Lavigne is being sued for copyright infringement because her hit song Girlfriend allegedly sounds like a song from the 1970s called I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.
Of course, lawsuits over songs occur far more regularly than we realize. Still, it's a good thing Lavigne is strong-willed. In a recent interview with Sun Media, the 22-year-old Lavigne was asked if there was any advice she would give to someone in their mid-teens who is thinking of getting into the music business.
