Arctic Monkeys' second album "Favourite Worst Nightmare" has hit the UK No. 1 spot this week, beating sales of Mark Ronson's "Version" and Beyonce's re-released "B'Day" by a massive margin. The Sheffield rockers' acclaimed set failed to beat the sales record set in 2006 by their previous album, however, falling short of the 364,000 sold that week.

Last week's top album, Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing", fell to three. In the Top 40 singles rundown, Beyonce's duet with Shakira "Beautiful Liar" maintained it's grip on the top spot, with Timbaland's "Give It To Me" ft. Justin Timbaland and Nelly Furtado back up to No.

2. Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" was this week's No. 3, Ne-Yo "Because Of You" was at four and Mark Ronson's cover of The Smiths' "Stop me if you've Heard this one Before" ft.

D Merriweather was at five and Mika's "Love Today" jumped 12 places to six. Rounding out the top ten is The Arctic Monkeys' "Brianstorm" at seven, Gym Class Heroes' "Cupid's Chokehold" at eight, Natasha Bedingfield's "I Wanna Have Your Babies" at nine and Travis' "Closer" at ten.
