by Inigo Montoya British webmaster extraordinaire Paul Heath from over at "The Hollywood News" has stumbled onto a site claiming that Halle Berry, not content to be the corporeal cinematic counterpart of two iconic comic-based characters, has signed on to step into Jane Fonda's space bikini accompanying shoes and star as the titular space sexpot in Robert Rodriguez' re-imagining of BARBARELLA. Not a choice that immediately comes to mind, nor a particularly inspired choice but a reasonable one nonetheless. As long as she doesn't emulate her rather ridiculous attempts at sexy from CATWOMAN and just lets her incredible body do the talking, as it were, we think she'll do just fine.
And speaking of "do", we hope casting an actress who's clearly ok with story-servicing nudity means that Barbarella will no longer be a suggestive little tease but a bonafide sex kitten who thrashes villainous alien scum in impossibly skimpy outfits by day and has wild, uncensored animal sex by night.
