Wide receiver Troy Brown helped promote new educational game. CHARLESTON -- West Virginia kids may be a little bit more money savvy thanks to a new video game. It's called Financial Football and the goal is to help kids better understand their finances.

Troy Brown, wide receiver for New England Patriot's, was on-hand to pump up Capitol High School students and get them into the game. The Marshall University football standout said he's a strong advocate for helping today's youth. "I think it's a good message for them and hopefully a lot of these kids will come out of here with some knowledge about the financial world and think about saving the extra money that they do have," said Brown.

West Virginia State Treasurer John Perdue said the game is sure to catch on. He said it's a great way for kids to participate and enjoy something that's usually a tough topic to teach. Copyright 2006 West Virginia Media.
