Analysts: Apple TV can become larger than TiVo, TiVo
ThinkEquity Partners financial analyst Jonathan Hoopes has said in a report that they expect Apple TV to become a bigger product than Apple iPhone for the Mac maker Apple Inc.
The report said that the Apple TV product has a making of a blockbuster and it could potentially alter the media landscape.
The device is expected to enhance the value of the company as it is going to boost their revenues and profits in the coming years.
Apple has designed and developed Apple TV to stream video acquired from the iTunes Store and other content from the personal computer to the television set.
The research analyst expects some 25% to 70% of the 22 million Mac users acquiring this device in the next five years. A lot of PC users are also going to buy the device.
This should easily help Apple overtake similar product making companies like TiVo.
Hoopes added: As a digital media content delivery vehicle positioned in users living rooms, we think the AppleTV/iTunes combination could become as disruptive to legacy video purchase-and-consumption behavior as the iPod/iTunes combination has been to the traditional music business model.
