Television: Kevin Sorbo keeps his eye on the ball Television: Celebrate the holiday honoring true freedom fighters Neal Justin: Is it OK for journalists to make political donations? Television: 10 TV moments that shook, rattled and rolled us I rarely carry my cell phone, have no idea how to operate a Blackberry and have never owned a Walkman, let alone an iPod. But blogging?

I'm all over it. When I started in the business, back in 1912, we didn't have e-mail or the Internet, which means that if readers wanted to contact us, they had to pick up the telephone -- a landline, no less -- and hope to reach us while we were at our desk. Not exactly ideal circumstances for us to interact.

Communication is a lot freer now -- and it's about to get even better. Starting today, we're launching the blog "Remote Island," where you can get answers to burning TV questions, take a stab at trivia questions and let me know what a fantastic job I'm doing (if you must take me to task, please keep in mind that my parents will be reading). As I've already stated, I'm far from a techno whiz, so I'll be relying on you to guide the blog -- and me.

I'll still continue to contribute regularly to ol' fashioned newsprint and to startribune.com, but "Remote Island" will feature lots of behind-the-scenes gossip, bonus commentary and my vast array of baking recipes. The site should be particularly meaty starting Tuesday, when I start reporting from Los Angeles for two weeks for the TV Critics Association press tour, an event that puts the country's biggest nerds (TV critics) with the country's best-known personalities (TV stars).

To get things started, I'd love to have you check out the site and weigh in on a few burning topics.
