2 star turns of the century John Wayne isn't the only one who's having a 100th birthday this year. One can't get through this more-notable-than-usual year for movie centenaries without acknowledging two of the most dynamic women to have ever worked in motion pictures. We'll take them one at a time: (May 12) - One wonders whether Hepburn's entire career was devoted to refuting Dorothy Parker's immortally pitiless put-down of a stage performance in which Parker claimed Hepburn "ran the gamut of emotions from A to B.

" That the performance came in 1933, the same year as the first of Hepburn's four Oscar wins, for "Morning Glory," makes one wonder how raw she was back then. 2 star turns of the century Citizens' icon or GOP godsend?
