There are only three deleted scenes on this DVD, and no epic long shots. Either Alfonso Cuaron used all the best stuff in the final cut, or there is a future special edition DVD coming. For now, the deleted scenes are worthwhile.
One modest oner of the homeless on the street shows a bit more of the state of the future. Street dentistry is not something I'd look forward to. A scene between Theo and his landlord, all through the door chain, shows a bit more of his pathetic state.
A walk through his brother's halls is an art discussion. Maybe I'm not sophisticated enough to get it, but it didn't add anything for me. Some behind the scenes features of note, Under Attack shows you how they did some of the most staggering long takes.
You see the rig for the car attack and how parts of the car collapsed at strategic moments. They also show how they coordinated the caf e explosion, but not the climactic battlefield scene. Visual Effects: Creating the Baby is a brief demonstration of the plates and composites used to put together the birthing scene.
I'm surprised they gave that away because it was Cuaron's big secret, but I'm glad he did because this is one DVD where you actually will want to see all the technical stuff.
