We're a country obsessed with celebrity, from what the stars are wearing on the red carpet to who's hooking up with whom, to who's headed for rehab. And in an era when seemingly everyone has an ever-present digital camera or a camera phone, it's easier than ever to snap and share photos of our close encounters of the celebrity kind. We recently asked readers to send in their photos and stories of their run-ins with the rich and famous.

We received dozens of photos of everyone from Elvis to Jennifer Aniston to, naturally, Cincinnati's own Nick Lachey. Here are a few of our favorites. Jennifer Aniston with members of the dance team from Starmaker Dance Studio in Delhi Township in Chicago, 2005.

"Several of the members of Starmaker's dance team met Jennifer Aniston while in Chicago attending a national dance competition in the summer of 2005," writes Michelle Westerfeld of Harrison, the mother of one of the dancers, Maggie . "Jennifer was there filming 'The Break-Up.' The girls talked the security personnel into asking Jennifer to come out and meet them.

The best part of the story is how nice she was to the girls. She was in no hurry to get away from them - (she) talked to them for quite a while. She even agreed to watch them dance, but her security guards said no.

" Left to right: Carlin Ram of Bridgetown, Kacey Willis of Dayton, Maggie Westerfield of Harrison, Priya Ram of Bridgetown, Anna Flinchbaugh of Bridgetown, Allison Mercurio of Delhi, Abbey Watson and Chris Flinchbaugh, both of Bridgetown. Jim Belushi with Mary Jo "Bunny" Doebling of Greenhills at a book signing in Cincinnati, May 2006. "I was his teacher in Wheaton, Ill.

, when he was in the eighth grade," writes the retired math teacher, who taught at Mount Healthy High School for 30 years. "And yes, he did remember me. I remember him as a kid with a gravelly voice who was the class clown (go figure!

)" Grenier of HBO's "Entourage" with Essie Lewis of Hyde Park (right) and niece Kayse Lewis of Conners, Ga., in Cannes, France, May 25. "The cast of 'Entourage' was filming an episode of the series (in Cannes)," Lewis writes.

"We were on vacation visiting Paris and Antibes and went down to Cannes for the day and caught the tail end of the film festival. (Grenier) was really nice. Unfortunately, we just missed George Clooney.

" Conan O'Brien with Julie Pergrem of Fort Thomas outside Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, May 18. "My husband and I had made the trip to see his show, and this was the icing on the cake," Pergrem writes. "Conan was incredibly gracious and kind and funny.

(He joked about how pale he would be in the photo - although, as it turns out, I think I am even paler than he is.) It was the best birthday present I could have asked for." Christopher Reeve with Lori Raap of Union on Mackinac Island, Mich.

, June 16, 1979. "He was there filming the movie 'Somewhere in Time,' " Raap writes. "My friend Carol and I arrived on the island earlier that day and knew that the cast and crew all had bicycle plates that had the 'Somewhere in Time' logo.

(Mackinac Island doesn't allow vehicles - everybody gets around by horse or bike.) We also knew that Christopher Reeve's plate had the number 1 on it. "So we were in front of his hotel checking out the bike racks when he came out the front door and began to talk to us.

He said if we came to the Grand Hotel that night, he would get us in to watch the film. "We of course did this and got to meet Christopher Plummer and Jane Seymour, who were also in the film. Reeve was such a nice man to pose for pictures and give autographs to a couple of giddy college girls.

We'll never forget that special night and still get a thrill talking about it." We're a country obsessed with celebrity, from what the stars are wearing on the red carpet to who's hooking up with whom, to who's headed for rehab.
