10th anniversary of Gianni Versace s death One of fashion s more exotic fashion marriages has just been announced: that of the Swedish high street chain, H M and the flamboyant, Florentine designer, Roberto Cavalli. Roberto Cavalli with sketches of his new range for H M Cavalli is the first Italian designer to sign on with H M s long-established roll-call of celebrity design collaborations and has promised to "add a dash of festivity and dreams" to the rails. The Roberto Cavalli at H M collection will be available from November 8th at 200 stores worldwide, including its UK flagship in Oxford Circus, London, W1.
The collection will be full of the high-octane colours, vivid and imaginative prints and sensual designs that are Cavalli s signature. It will feature 20 menswear and 25 womenswear pieces, including lingerie and matching accessories - all at prices massively cheaper than Cavalli s own de luxe designer label. Cavalli s passionate and eye-catching design approach has earned him a massive international slew of customers.
Often regarded as the king of bling , he has a jetset, red carpet clientele which includes Madonna, Beyonc , Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Thereon, Jennifer Lopez, Sharon Stone, Victoria Beckham and Gong Li with Lenny Kravitz and Adrian Brody among his menswear fans. "I enthusiastically welcomed this invitation, proud to bring the lively and positive spirit of my work to a new audience, who will be able to see and interpret my style in an individual way," Cavalli said. "I love freedom and challenges; breaking down barriers; experimenting in different directions.
H M is all this for me." H M s Margareta van den Bosch, head of design, said Roberto Cavalli designs represented an exuberant, successful lifestyle. "There is no place for shyness and no possibility of ending up with a mainstream wardrobe of everyday basics.
Roberto Cavalli has created a world of his own, iconic and full of fantasy, when it comes to colours, prints and style.
