Star set for new comedy. by IGN Staff - Jim Carrey has signed to star in a new comedy, , about a hard-partying executive who is assigned a court-appointed Sober Buddy (Carrey) to keep him in check while on a business trip to Vegas. The plan goes downhill when the Sober Buddy falls off the wagon.
Carrey's co-star, the exec role, has not yet been cast. Andrew Kurtzman, scripter of DreamWorks' forthcoming Peabody and Sherman , conceived the Universal-based project. Carrey's casting, reported by , comes as the funnyman is eyeing three other projects as his next -- all in contention to begin filming before a possible industry labor strike next June.
He may star in Ripley's Believe It or Not! , the dark indie comedy I Love You Phillip Morris, or in the Fox-based comedy Star set for new comedy.
