"CAPTIVITY" (R): Elisha Cuthbert plays a woman held captive in a cellar in this torture-fest, which won't be screened in advance for critics.
"INTRODUCING THE DWIGHTS" (R) : Brenda Blethyn plays a larger than life Australian comedian intent on interfering with her son's love life. "JOSHUA" (R): The tale of Brad (Sam Rockwell) and Abby (Vera Farmiga) Cairn, perfect Manhattan parents in a perfect Manhattan apartment whose perfect life begins to crack after the birth of their second child, Lily. "TEN CANOES" (NR): A thousand years ago in tribal times in the north of Australia, Dayindi (Jamie Gulpilil, son of actor/narrator David Gulpilil) covets one of the wives of his older brother. To teach him the proper way, he is told a story from long ago -- a tragicomic, cautionary tale of love, lust and revenge gone wrong.
The film is shot entirely in Aboriginal language. "VITUS" (PG): Vitus (played by real-life prodigy Teo Gheorghiu) is a boy who almost seems to be from another planet: He has hearing like a bat, he plays piano like a virtuoso and studies encyclopedias at the age of 5. It is no wonder his parents begin to anticipate a brilliant future for him.
They want Vitus to become a pianist. However, the child prodigy prefers to play in his eccentric grandfather's (Bruno Ganz) workshop. He dreams of flying and taking control of his own life.
