LOS ANGELES (May 17, 2007) -- While hoards of film watchers have turned their attentions to the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival, Guy Candy is keeping things domestic, choosing to focus our attention on the likes of Luke Wilson.

So what makes the youngest of the Wilson brothers Guy Candy worthy? Aside from his classic good looks dark hair, blue eyes and a Roman-esque jaw, he brings that special kind of Wilson humor to many of his performances, making him seem so very, very down to earth.

On Friday, Luke introduces his new big screen venture The Wendell Baker Story to a wide audience. Wilson starred in the flick he wrote and co-directed with elder brother Andrew.

As the title character, Wilson plays a kind hearted ex-con looking for redemption in the Deep South.

Some of that redemption comes in the form of attempting to win back his ex-girlfriend Doreen, played by screen stunner Eva Mendes.

Wilson premiered the film a couple years ago in his native Texas at the Austin SXSW film festival and he s appeared nothing but thrilled that it finally makes its big city debut.

Previously audiences fell for Wilson as Mitch Martin, frat kingpin to a host of misfits including Frank the Tank (Will Ferrell) and Bernard (Vince Vaughn) in Old School.

Other of Luke s choice roles Frank Vitchard in Anchorman, Richie Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenenbaums, and as Anthony in Bottle Rocket.

In real life, Luke has made a host of gorgeous leading ladies swoon including his Home Fries and Charlie s Angels co-star Drew Barrymore who he dated for a couple of years in the late 1990s
