Tonight's TV Week Logie Awards will have the cream of Australian television talent vying for recognition in a star-studded ceremony from Crown Casino featuring American guests Jessica Alba, Michael Weatherly, Michael Chiklis and Avril Lavigne.
Leading the charge for Queensland is Neighbours star Natalie Blair, who is nominated for both the Gold Logie and the Silver Logie for most popular actress.
In the gold category, she is competing against McLeod's Daughters stars Rachael Carpani and Simmone Jade Mackinnon, John Howard from All Saints, chat show host Rove McManus, the evergreen Bert Newton, Home and Away's Kate Ritchie, and last year's winner, John Wood.

McManus, who has just returned to his Channel 10 show after the death of his wife Belinda Emmett last year, is the sentimental favourite to win gold.
Queenslanders in contention for other gongs tonight ndash; on Channel 9 from 7.30 ndash; are Neighbours' Ben Lawson in the most popular new male talent category; Home and Away's Paul O'Brien for most popular actor; and RAN: Remote Area Nurse star Aaron Fa'aoso for most outstanding new talent.

Queenslanders associated with programs in the running for Logies include Natalie Gruzlewski and Ben Dark for Getaway, Ian Healy for Channel 9's cricket coverage, Dr Andrew Roachford for What's Good for You, and Paul Vautin for The Footy Show.
The Brisbane-based team behind the ABC's Australian Story is up for an award in the public affairs category, which Channel 9 hopes to win for its interview with the Sunshine Coast's Terri Irwin following the death of her husband Steve.
For many Queensland stars, being at the Logies is almost as good as winning one.

Brisbane radio star Camilla Severi will cover the event for her B105 breakfast show and she'll be barracking for Channel 10's Big Brother, which is in the running for the reality TV gong.
Severi, who was at the centre of last year's controversial turkey-slapping incident, said that shouldn't prevent Big Brother from winning a Logie tonight.
She said B105 newsreader Tash Jobson will breath-test the stars as they leave the festivities tonight, but she is certain to be in the clear.

I obviously can't drink because of the little bubby, said Severi, who is 10 weeks pregnant.
The Queensland contingent also will include Channel 9's Heather Foord, Bruce Paige and Jillian Whiting; Channel 10 Toasted TV host Pip Russell, and Channel 7 newsreaders Rod Young and Kay McGrath, who will be wearing an electric blue dress by Brisbane designer Hilde Heim.
Foord, a Logies veteran who will take her daughter India with her, says she will enjoy people-watching at the Crown Casino tonight and tomorrow morning.

There's always some fabulously gorgeous people around, said Foord, who will be wearing a dress by Brisbane's Hwa Sook Lee Bora. But the next day, they're very ordinary.
Although she isn't a big partygoer, Foord will be dropping in to Nine boss Eddie McGuire's bash, which doesn't even begin until 12.

30am tomorrow.
