The 40th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles is this weekend and contemporary musicians have recorded versions of the songs from the legendary record to mark the occasion. According to the BBC, , The Magic Numbers, Bryan Adams, The , Razorlight, and others were involved in a massive recording session of Sgt.

Pepper's songs for a program which will be aired on Radio 2 in England on June 2nd. The program will be a two-parter with the second part of the tribute to The Beatles, arguably the most influential band of all time, to air on the same channel on June 16th.

Geoff Emerick, the man who engineered the first recordings for Sgt.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band back in 1967 used the same equipment to record the tribute material by and others this month. It was the same analogue 4-track equipment used at the Abbey Road studios back in 1967.

Bryan Adams took hold of the title track, Sgt.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and told the BBC that the records was one of the most influential in his life, saying that he is "still drawn to the songs today. Those songs that they have on that album are beautifully crafted, beautifully recorded and we'll never get close to that."

The band Razorlight performed "A Little Help From My Friends," The Fray tackled "Fixing a Hole," The undoubtedly rocked "Getting Better," and The Magic Numbers took on "She's Leaving Home.

" Ricky Wilson of The gave The Beatles full credit, noting that the old equipment was harder to use, saying, "I do think because you had to work a lot harder for it, the results were a lore more astonishing."

Sgt. Pepper's continues to influence countless generations and the anniversary this weekend has inspired countless articles about what the album means to people.

Reuters published a column where they implore everyone to listen to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles, saying, "I promise you will be transported to a place you've never been. A place that gives you unexpected energy, encourages you to dream and, somehow, makes you feel a little bit better about life.

In 2003, Rolling Stone named Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles as the Greatest Album of All Time. The album was first released on June 1st, 1967 and June 2nd in the United States.

It was number one in the US for 15 weeks and in the UK for an amazing 27 weeks. It won the Grammy for album of the year and went on to influence countless musicians for decades to come.
