New Delhi: He might be the Big B, but superstar Amitabh Bachchan is no farmer claimed villagers from Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh.
A Fazibabad Court also agrees with the farmers and has struck down Bachchan's claim to two acres of land, which he had bought two decades back claiming to be a farmer.
Given Bachchan's close proximity to the Samajwadi Party, the issue immediately assumed political colour.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati swung into action and moments after the court's verdict the land was restored to the Gram Sabha.
“One isn't called a criminal after an FIR is lodged. We are not faking and nor has the court said so,” Bachchan's lawyer, M B Singh argued.

But Faizabad Additional Commissioner Vidhya Sagar was very clear that Bachchan had submitted forged documents to show that he was a farmer.
“There is no proof of the name found in the record. It has been found to be fake and baseless.

Thus, the order earlier passed by the Barabanki DM has been dismissed and the order passed later by Goel has been implemented,” Sagar said.
Meanwhile, for the Big B's self-professed younger brother and SP leader Amar Singh the times are getting tougher. First his other friend and industrialist Anil Ambani's Greater Noida SEZ ran into trouble and now this land issue.

"He is my elder brother but he has not entrusted me to speak on this matter,” Amar Singh said.
In Uttar Pradesh, a clear political change is taking its effect on all things and Bachchan's claims have also been tilled away in that revamp process.
