Karan Grover aka Arjun of Saarthi is a self-proclaimed ambitious guy. "I want to create a name for myself as an actor." he figured amongst the top 10 finalists of a model hunt show.
Being a Mumbaite, dream, which finally came true when he got an opportunity to become a VJ. But acting, he started out as a student of chemical engineering and moved on to event management. Karan also assisted Omang Kumar for some time but his obsession with acting finally led him back to ‘act’ track.
"Acting was my true calling. The rest of the things were to keep my dad satisfied as he wasn’t too happy with the idea of my being an actor," he quips. block, the young actor is averse to the saas-bahu kind of serials.
"I don’t relate to such shows. There’s hardly anything for the male leads in these shows. I want to do work which has substance.
Like in the two serials that I am doing, my characters are very strong. It’s a big compliment for an actor to be known by the characters he plays. That’s where his capability lies.
In fact when I go out people call me Arjun," he passionate about acting, who are his favourite actors? "Ami- tabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan." You ask him why and pat comes answer, "You have to agree that Amitabh Bachchan is a name to reckon with.
It’s not easy to remain on top for 30-40 years consistently. And also look at his repertoire. His versatility is commendable.
As for Aamir, I love his versatility and his sincerity towards his work. He works less but with utmost perfection." Right.
And since acting is his calling, when he is headed for the big screen? "I would love to do films provided I get some interesting offers. I’m not willing to do bit roles where I disappear in a blink of an eye.
I haven’t yet been offered any movie, but if I am, the role will be a big criteria for selection. As of now I am satisfied with TV." personal front, Karan is already hitched and happy.
He is in a steady person and a very good actress. We met about a year back and hit it off immediately." So do we hear the wedding bells ring soon?
"No, not so soon. Both of us want to concentrate on our respective careers right now.
