I doubt there s really any relation between Tammy and Daniela, except, of course, for their videos showing up on the Internet. Tammy s at least had nudity, but both were pretty disappointing considering all the hype.

Singaporean student, Tammy Nyp is at the center of a storm of publicity on the internet and especially in the blogosphere that will leave a lasting negative impact on her life.
Her crime is recording herself having sex with her boyfriend on her mobile phone and then having that phone stolen by a jealous rival.
The rival was then nice enough to upload the amateur film to the internet.
While this might seem banal enough to most weterners [sic], the problem is that Tammy lives in Singapore - a quite traditional and strict society. It is a place where chewing gum is illegal and, as one unfortunate American found out a few years ago, vandalism can get you a session of 30 lashes with a cane from the state’s corporal punishment experts.
Hopefully, nothing so drastic awaits Tammy, but the effect this will have on her life in a small, conservative society shouldn’t be forgotten.

Ok, I ve heard of Ronaldo because I watched the World Cup this year, but I ve never heard of Daniela Cicarelli, and I m not exactly sure why this is such a big deal on the Internet right now. The Saddam hanging video controversy and excitement I can understand, but some paparazzi beach sex video that doesn t really show anything? I don t get it.

It sounds like this might be the Brazilian version of NYP Tammy, where Daniela is Tammy and Brazil is Singapore. The kind of thing where an entire country apparently goes crazy over some sex video (even though the Daniela video is really tame and doesn t even have any actual nudity) while everyone else in the rest of the world doesn t understand why they re going nuts about it.
The video (at least the version circulating now) isn t all that explicit, but it s super cheesy. It s been edited to include schlocky samba music and subtitles ( an ice cream to cool the heat or does it, hmmm? ).

I m not sure what the Brazilian court intends to do to enforce this ruling, since YouTube (and its parent company, Google) are based in the US.
Will they take steps to try and block access within Brazil? A court that country last year demanded that Google disclose user data related to Orkut (also owned by Google) over child porn. Google removed some of the pages in question, but didn t comply with the data demands.
I finally figured out where that annoying layer ad that was floating above my pages was coming from. It was Paypopup.com, who I d been using for popunder ads for a few extra bucks for a while now.
Apparently they changed things around so they started showing that ad instead of the usual popunder ad. I have no idea why, the new one is one of the most annoying things I ve ever seen, and I can t find any option in their control panel to disable it.
So for now I m not showing their ads any more.
Their loss. If they can give me a way to bring back the old ones, I ll re-enable them. Waiting for a response

Only objects are hung, people are hanged. Whether he was hanged or hung, the fact is that Saddam Hussein was executed in Iraq. I was sure that this would have dangerous repercussions and i was right.
This execution should not have happened.

Even if saddam was executed, they should have done it in secrecy and not released the photos and videos of the execution. Even if they had released the videos, NDTV should not have shown it on TV.
I knew that such an act would result in calamity, to an unimaginable extent. But, NDTV did the unthinkable and showed the videos. Even if NDTV had decided to show the news , they should have done it sometime in the afternoon or evening.
But, they telecast it in the morning and that too, just as i woke up that day. This was wrong!
So, NDTV showed photos and videos of his execution early in the morning just after i had kept the milk for boiling for my morning cup of coffee.
This was wrong. And, the ardent news follower that i am, i was busy watching NDTV while the temperature on the stove increased to such an extent that the milk boiled and flowed all over the electric stove. At the end of it, on a beautiful morning, i had to listen to lessons from Vidhya on the art of boiling milk!

I go and take a look at the top Technorati searches, and admist all the usual Saddam Hussein execution video searches that we ve gotten used to over the past few days, there s something new.
Well, not new, actually pretty old. But there she is, good old NYP Tammy, apparently making her Technorati comeback.
She s the fifth most popular search on Technorati right now (in between Britney and Saddam Hussein )
The strange thing is, back in March when she was totally dominating them. I ve been getting a steady stream of people who are still looking to download her video, apparently, so for some reason people in Singapore just can t forget about her. It s very strange.
But now for some reason she s back in the Technorati top 15, even with all the Saddam hanging hoopla going on. So Technorati has unblocked her from showing up and there s something new going on with her that makes people want to search for her again.
Very weird.
Anyone know why people are going crazy looking for her again? Was there some year in review article in Singapore that mentioned it in passing or something like that?
