I'm writing about some issues I learned in the newspaper and talking to people. I have only lived here 2+ years, but the poor attitudes of the City Council and local citizens bother me. FRRPD has some hardworking people, yet people tend to talk badly about them: Two are Vene Thompson and his wife, Helen.

The complainers do not work to make a better city. Secondly, Oroville doesn't need a second Senior Citizen's Center, no matter what one person with 20 friends seems to think. If they want their own club, let them start one in their homes.

What we need to support the Senior Center we already have downtown. When Oroville grows to 100,000, maybe another center would fly. To make one now to give someone a paid leadership role is ridiculous and expensive.

Thirdly, after living in five states, this town is not large enough for a roundabout on East Montgomery Street. This is only to magnify one man's job. It will not do anything except cause grief at that intersection.

A connector bridge over the river would make more sense. We all need to work together to make this city better. We have much to be thankful for, like River Bend Park and the concerts.
