Mumbai: The TADA court convicted accused no 53, Samir Hingora - the owner of Magnum Videos - for his role in the bombings in November last year.
"On January 18, 1993, Samir Hingora along with Abu Salem had delivered three AK- 56 rifles and hand grenades to Sanjay Dutt and he has been found guilty under Section 3(3) and 120(B) of IPC," Special Public Prosecutor, Ujjwal Nikam had said.
The court sentenced Hingora to nine years in prison and he has been asked to pay a fine of Rs 2 lakh - a development that spells bad news for actor Sanjay Dutt, considering the fact that the man who took the AK 56 rifle from his home - Mansoor Ahmed - has also got a 10 year jail term.
In fact, veteran police officers are now starting to question the grounds on which Sanjay Dutt was let off under TADA.
Former police commissioner, A S Samra, said, "He was not a child that he can be forgiven for the mistake. Possession of arms is a serious crime and hence he is a criminal.
"
With the court awarding stiff terms to Dutt's associates, the question uppermost in everyone's mind is what's in store for the Bollywood star.
