Resident Evil 4? Let us all have a moment of silence for a prayer of thanks. This is set six years after the disaster at Racoon City and the has long been closed down.

Leon Scott Kennedy's back, this time on a mission to save the President's daughter. Of course, one would expect from the series, but this has Leon battling crazed fanatic villagers. But then, this title has a name to live up to.

This time the enemies are smarter and the bosses are said to make Nemesis look like a cute plushie. Anyway, has Resident Evil 4 available for the PC retailing at US$ 29.99.

The pre-release ships April 2, 2007. Many have been waiting for this title to be ported for the PC, and now is finally releasing it. It seems the long wait is over.

Now take a deep breath, it's just a couple of months away. The FPS which blew away the competition back in 1996 may (and we repeat: MAY) actually be seeing the light of day after all. Well, according to a whole lot of speculation anyway.

The root of all the theories regarding the come-back of Duke Nukem is the fact that quite recently, 3D Realms, the company who made the original game, has posted a couple of job openings over at . This may be nothing unusual, but there were two details that caught everyone's eyes. First, is that among the specified requirements for the jobs was "Passion for making and playing over-the-top action games" (and among 3D Realms' repertoire, what else can be more "over-the-top" than Duke Nukem?

). And next would be the statement that the new recruits will be working at "3D Realms' studio on PC and Xbox 360 development". So, if we're assuming that the title in question is (which is taking, well, forever to finish), and the qualified applicants will be working at 3D Realms' X360 and PC department.

.. It's really just a matter of putting two and two together.

For those who are too young or , Streets of Rage was a beat-'em-up Sega for the and the Genesis. Gameplay was similar to Double Dragon and Final Fight and the storyline of old 80s cop shows. Fast forward to 2006.

Bomber Games has developed Streets of Rage Remake and has made a number of changes. The original sprites were kept plus a number of new characters, moves, and bad guys were added. Some of the stages were also completely revamped with new effects, colors and scroll layers, and the Soundtrack was also redone.

Streets of Rage Remake was done from the ground up, careful to remain faithful to the original series.

  • 8 characters (2 secret ones)
  • 43 locations with multi-path splits
  • 52 enemy types with all their original moves
  • 34 different remixes
  • New options and modes were added
And , runs on minimal system requirements and weighs in at around 12.9 MB, so just go ahead and download it from the Bomber Games site.

Enough said. has finally decided to give us a peek at their fourth quarter offering for the year 2007. Entitled Clusterball 2, this game for your PCs is said to be a "high-paced adrenaline pumping flight sport".

And, demanding as it is, requirements on your end would be skill, tactics and ball control. The description is rather amusing. It is "designed as a but without the splatter and gore.

" Hmmm...

that sure is interesting. So, what else are we to expect from this game? Basically, you are to fly off in some really cool high tech aircraft.

Your mission is to collect and score as many balls as you can while at the same time beating your opponents to doing the same. Okay, now, take note that your ship will have a tail of balls, which grows and inevitably slows you down. You didn't really expect the game to just be about collecting and scoring balls, right?

Of course there's a catch to it. So, in collecting and scoring more balls, the longer your tail grows, and thus, the more dangerous it becomes for you as being slowed down makes you more vulnerable to attack. See, we told you you'll need skills and tactics here.

Anyways, Clusterball 2 features a new revolutionary weapons system, as well as three different models of aircraft, additional new game modes and more. So, you practically have a full year to develop those skills and tactics you need for here. But in the meantime Before anything else, check out this video.

What you just saw was the Multi Theft Auto movie. Multi Theft Auto, as the name suggests, is a multiplayer mod for 's games. According to the people behind MTA, it is the world's first modification to incorporate multi-player into a single-player PC game.

So, how does one make a mod that turns a single-player game into a multiplayer fiesta? The magic is in MTA's new scripting system. All of the scripts used in MTA are written using .

Jon Chappell, of the MTA devs, says they chose partly due to its "simple syntax, extensibility and the fact that Lua scripts do not need to be pre-compiled." Those who are familiar with other programming languages should pick things up easily, and even people who have no coding experience can still make MTA maps. According to Chappell, "existing game mode scripts can be imported into new maps with no scripting necessary (more on this at a later date).

However, for those of you that do want to code game modes, the QA team has been working hard on providing extensive documentation to aid in this process." There are also quite a few game modes that are currently in development. While the vid mainly showcased tech demos and mini-games, other modes such as Conquest and Turf Wars are in the works.

The new scripting system will also include features that will be useful to budding RPG programmers such as control over time and weather, customisable player stats and clothes, integration with the MTA Center for player authentication (optional), vehicle modifications, 3D sound functions, dimensions, and many more. Just looking at the amount of energy, work hours, and sheer love of the game put into this mod is enough to give us a few teary eyes. In all honesty, we are really looking forward to playing a full beta version of MTA (heck, we'd settle for just a few more vids of it in action).

Speaking of the beta, the MTA team has also revealed that they're nearly ready to release the public beta for their new MTA software. Right now, the client for Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas - which contains a race mod and a race map editor - is available for download on the MTA website. A series of scripting demos will be released on the MTA development blog soon, so watch out for those.

Executive Producer for the police game The Shield, Rob Sandberg, gets into the interrogation room with Worth Playing for an investigation as to the game's progress, its cancellation and subsequent resurrection and gameplay. And no, he didn't have to be cuffed to reveal these information. First presented over at E3 back in March 2004, the game suddenly disappeared without any apparent trace.

But now, thanks to Sandberg, we'll be finding out exactly what happened. According to him, , the former publisher of The Shield, merged with . Along with this new partnership came the evaluation that the game didn't quite fit in Sega's publishing portfolio.

Hence, the game was set aside. Boohoo..

. And then Aspyr enters the picture. Thankfully, the developers' pitch was accepted, and they now couldn't be happier with the way things turned out.

After all, they do have the support of an experienced production staff and quality assurance department. Indeed, Sandberg describes it as "probably the best thing that could have happened to the game." So, having overcome that particular hump on the road, let us now inspect the storyline and gameplay.

The Shield, while based on an existing TV show, boasts of an original story entitled "Gunshy". In a nutshell: The Strike Team is splitting up, and Vic is trying to keep them together for one last chance at recouping their "retirement fund" after their pile of stolen money was burned by Lem. The Strike Team is put on notice and needs a high profile bust to impress the brass to prevent being disbanded.

Vic and the Strike Team become tangled in the middle of a gang war between the Biz-Lats and the One-Niners.
From among the 15 featured levels and 33 playable areas, viewers of the show would most recognize The Barn level. The artists and designers actually used the detailed floor plans of the Barn sets and even spent an entire afternoon at Prospect Studios to be able to take photo references of it.

As for the rest of the levels, they were basically inspired by the inner city of . The gameplay of The Shield was basically designed to "reflect TV police action balanced action against the idea that a cop, good or bad, cannot shoot his way through every challenge." This single player game is given an M rating.

Asked if there are any plans for a next-generation version of The Shield, Sandberg replies, "There currently are no plans for a next-gen version, but we would love to do one. Are you buying?" It looks like has been up to a lot of little things lately.

A visit to their website indicates that they've done some tweaking to their holiday calendar, and it's brought the promise of a new game, and possibly a new Shadowgrounds title next year. If you check the December calendar on their website, you'll actually be treated to a lot of goodies. One of these is a quirky new minigame they've made to tide people over until next year.

In it, you'll have to lead your squad of humans in a fight against your alien adversaries on Ganymede. It's basically pointing your units towards isolated enemies and rushing them until you beat them all, but it does remind you of the computer-controlled Game of Life simulation, at least. More importantly, they've got a teaser trailer up.

It seems Frozenbyte will be getting a new game next year, and if it's a new Shadowgrounds game, then you've got a pretty good reason to get well-acquainted with the first one, especially since it's going on . Enjoy the video. We first reported about the Team developed and published PC game, , a month ago.

And from the title of the game itself, you'd know that you'd be shooting down alien meanies who are armed with bad tempers, powerful weapons, and high-speed vehicles. Now, not only would you know about it, but you could actually have a first-person point of view about the game because it's demo has just been set loose. CDV Software Entertainment USA recently announced the release of a new demo of the game which will give players the opportunity to blast 'em aliens through four missions consist of two skirmish and two campaign modes.

The demo size is about a 190MB and along with the mentioned four missions, you'll also have one vehicle (the buggy) available in the first mission, eight characters, and an array of weapons to choose from. And aside from the short time of downloading the demo (well, that depends on your connection), it won't cost you a thing. The demo is available via the Read link below.

Enjoy!
