Ohioans' films, videos to be shown
The 12th annual Ohio Short Film Video Showcase will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday in the film/video theater of the Wexner Center for the Arts, 1871 N.

High St.
New works by filmmakers and media artists from Ohio will be shown. Each work lasts less than 20 minutes and was produced in Ohio during the past 18 months.

Professional musicians with a wide spectrum of backgrounds will play a benefit concert for the central Ohio chapter of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at 6:30 p.

Players from the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Otterbein College and other groups will perform.

The Worthington Arts Council will feature the work of two college faculty members in exhibits Monday through July 2.
Acrylic paintings by Colette Palamar, an environmental-studies professor at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, will be displayed in the Worthington Community Center, 345 E. Wilson Bridge Rd.


Columbus College of Art Design professor Ron Anderson will show landscapes in the Worthington Municipal Building, 6550 N. High St., and Park National Bank, 7140 N.

Jazz pianist Mark Flugge will pay tribute to Michael Brecker at 8 p.m.

Saturday in the Columbus Music Hall, 734 Oak St.
Michael Cox (saxophone), Dave DeWitt (bass) and Dave Weinstock (drums) will join Flugge.
Brecker, a tenor saxophonist, died in January at age 57.

The Columbus Children's Choir has announced the winners of its "Voice of the City" competition, which took place April 21: overall winner David Baghat, 21, of Otterbein College; Cassie Rea, 17, of Westerville North High School; Eric Knapp, 16, of Hilliard Davidson High School; and Allan Labanowski, 12, of Jones Middle School.


Yoojin Kim, an Ohio State University School of Music composition student, won the Flute Composition Competition last month at OSU.
Her work -- Trio for Flute, Clarinet and Bassoon -- was performed by Jason Lin (flute), Erika Cikraji (clarinet) and Amy Bassett (bassoon) during the Johnstone Woodwind Master Series.
Dave Weckl, a Grammy- winning drummer, will conduct a clinic at 8 p.
