One of my favorite music blogs is BadMintonStamps. Philabuster and SkinnySlim have great taste in music, and that is where I discovered this Wilmington, Delaware based power-duo, The Sky Drops.

Rob Montejo and Monika Bullette mix fuzz guitars, driving drums, and vocals reminiscent of the Byrd's, into a unique blend of their own. You can Listen At MySpace or The Sky Drops Website. Try it - you will like it.

The Sleeping Years is Irish troubadour and ex-Catchers one-man band Dale Grundle (vocals, guitar, piano, bass, harmonica). And what a pleasant discovery he is to the ears.

The song I have selected for you, 'The Lockkeeper's Cottage' is off his new five track EP: "The "You And Me Against The World" EP, which is in limited edition (500 signed copies, numbered by the artist, iin unique hand-made sleeves designed by Pika Pika), and will no doubt be a collector's item in the years to come. Grundle is a terrific songwriter and talented vocalist, who will no doubt [..

This opening cut off The Frames fourth Album, 'For The Birds', is an elegant mixture of piano and violin - great music to study to, or kick back with a glass of wine. You can listen to the full cut over at MySpace or HERE.

The Frames are currently on tour and will be appearing at Coachella with Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) on keyboards on Saturday at 3 pm. Enjoy.

Documentary filmmaker Tim Samuels went all over the UK and recruited lonely old people, who were stuck at home in in nursing facilities, to address the issue of age and abandonment.

This video highlights the geriatrics rock troupe he put together. The lead singer is Alf and there are 80, 90 and 100-year-olds also in the band. The cover for Pete Townshend's "My Generation" was produced by Mike Hedges (U2) and it was recorded in the legendary Beatles studio at Abbey Road.

" The single will be released May 21st with proceeds going [...
