In one recording, Din was videotaped agreeing to pay an undercover detective posing as a hitman $3,000 to kill his girlfriend, Sherry Nohar.
Din's attorney, Craig Purcell, maintained during the trial that his client was never intended to go through with the plan and that even Nohar does not believe Din was serious. Nohar testified on Din's behalf, saying she still cared for him and that she laughed when she saw the video of him plotting her death. Following the verdict, Purcell told Hudson that Din accepts responsibility for his actions and blames nobody but himself for "ruining his life.
