Herald entertainment reporter Scott Kara blogs from the Coachella Music Festival in La Quinta, Palm Springs, USA.
No sooner had I seen Cameron Diaz - who I stopped and had an unashamed look at - and then Scarlett Johannson is up there on stage singing the beautiful Just Like Honey with Scottish noise rockers of yesteryear, the Jesus and Mary Chain (JAMC).
That song was on the Lost In Translation soundtrack, the film that made Scarlett a star, and it breathed new life into JAMC.

Not that they needed it, I've always loved them and they were the highlight for me today on the opening day of the Coachella Festival.
Plus, seeing two pretty movie stars (Cameron isn't as Amazonian as I thought she'd be), and Kelly Osbourne, isn't bad going either. And, what with Sonic Youth and the Arctic Monkeys putting in stunning sets, and my new favourite band called Of Montreal playing, there's endless amounts of great music.

These Americans really know how to run a festival. There's no lines for anything, the sound is impeccable, and hardly any munters. Tomorrow's line up is looking even better.

Kings of Leon, LCD Soundsystem, Ghostface Killah, Arcade Fire, the Good the Bad and the Queen...
