When it comes to celebrity style, the newest must-have accessory isn t a brown adopted baby from Africa or a vagina that automatically repels underwear whenever a photographer is near - it s a smashed-up car and a DUI arrest.
Eve is the latest celebrity to be arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, after she lost control of her Maserati and ploughed it into a concrete divider on Hollywood Boulevard early yesterday morning. Of course, it s wrong to just say famous rapper Eve went drink-driving because the police still need to get the results of several tests - like the blood-alcohol test that Eve took to identify if she had been drinking, and the other test to identify whether Eve still actually qualifies as being famous any more.
Eve is probably everyone s favourite female rapper who occasionally gets in trouble with the law. No, wait - that s , but Eve is definitely second. Unless is, which she probably is.
So Eve is everyone s third favourite female rapper who occasionally gets in trouble with the law. Or fourth after that dead girl from TLC, anyway.
Come on, you know who Eve is - she had two semi-famous songs six years ago, plus she was in and handful of woeful films and an internet sex tape, plus there s the obligatory fashion label.
And now she s been arrested for drink driving, Eve is now easily as famous as or . E! Online reports:
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the 28-year-old entertainer, whose full name is Eve Jeffers, was driving through Hollywood around 2:45 when she lost control of her gold-hued ride and smashed headfirst into a cement median.
Neither Eve nor her two passengers appeared to have suffered any injuries, police said She submitted to a blood-alcohol test, but the results were not immediately available, per the LAPD. She was booked for suspicion of driving under the influence and held in custody until 6 a.m.
, when her manager posted $30,000 bail.
But don t think for a second that Eve is just going to be one of these boring celebrities who don t put any effort into their drink-driving arrests like or , because Eve managed to somehow get Sean Penn to come and visit her at the police station following the arrest.
Lord alone knows why Sean Penn went to visit Eve, but we think it s probably one of the following, although it might not be any of these - a) Sean Penn and Eve are doing it, b) Sean Penn is about to star in a potentially Oscar-winning movie about a drunk black female rapper and he needed to do the research or c) Sean Penn wanted someone to guest-rap on his new single Crazy Boogie Fun Party Time.
Having said that, Sean Penn turning to see Eve just after she d been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving is really nothing too out of the ordinary. After all, Sir Lawrence Olivier did do a similar thing for Buffy The Human Beatbox from The Fat Boys once.
