I am, however, amazed that Josh Hartnett accepted a role in this film. It’s a huge detour from his macho roles in Lucky Number Sleven , Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbor . Josh does do a good job as Eben, the town sheriff, but almost any B actor could have played the role as well.
Doing this film will probably do nothing to advance his position in the acting world. On the other side of the coin, Ben Foster, who was recently seen in 3:10 To Yuma , emits the fear of Hades in his portrayal of The Stranger, the character who paves the way for the vampire tribe into the city. These two roles should help Ben move up to some greater challenges that will lift his sagging career.
FINAL ANALYSIS: A ‘Hollywood’ horror night flick that should attract major fear fans flocking to the theatres to get their fix of guts and gore.
