Have your say Bond funds in the 'UK other bond' sector have performed remarkably well in the present turmoil and have only suffered slight losses. Unless you believe that there is going to be a serious increase in defaults then a well managed bond fund is well worth a punt in my view - they are correlated to the equity market sentiment wise, but are underpinned by income yield - so in the event of a bear market, they may dip slightly, but certainly not as much as equity holdings. In an environment of falling interest rates then their attractiveness is obvious.
