Youtube and Copyright Violation?

Dear Member: This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by The Entertainment Software Association Members claiming that this material is infringing: This took me by surprise, because I havn t uploaded anything to YouTube that violates copyright. The Entertainment Software Association is a lobby group with members such as Nintendo, Sony Entertainment, Microsoft, Namco and other big names in the games industry. The video in question was one I took of installing a mod chip into a Nintendo Wii.

This is not copyright infringement! I do not bootleg games! But the worst thing of all, is YouTube require me to be a US resident to file a DMCA counter-claim.

So, thanks to the USA s utterly retarded copyright laws, you can count New Zealanders amongst the victims of the collateral damage done by this frivilous legislation. I Hope New Zealand legislators can learn from the US s mistakes and that our new copyright laws are not as damaging to freedom as the US s.
