" The pop princess tried to use the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday as a prime-time platform to showcase her new single Gimme More. Under a headline Britney's Comeback Bust, People magazine in its online edition said Spears looked in need of more practice. In a withering putdown, the Los Angeles Times reviewer said Spears "looked more like Edie Sedgwick in the post-lobotomy scenes of the underground movie Ciao, Manhattan.
" Meanwhile, Spears wasn't the only entertainer getting into trouble on Sunday. Police in Las Vegas have cited Kid Rock for misdemeanour battery in connection with a scuffle between him and rocker Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas. Both musicians are ex-husbands of model and actress Pamela Anderson.
