3?¢?B Language: Taiwanese, Malay and Mandarin Shooting for the first time in his native Malaysia, Tsai Ming Liang depicts foreign workers in Kuala Lumpur in his latest feature.
The director's ever-present muse, actor Lee Kang Sheng, plays two roles: a paralyzed man and a homeless Chinese immigrant. After being beaten up on a street, the latter is saved and nursed by Bangladeshi workers. As the Chinese man recovers, he wordlessly captivates both men and women.
With Tsai's minimalist touch, the movie captures eros and humor with tenderness. (Mizuho Aoki) "Night at the Museum" is a family comedy in the vein of "Jumanji" and "Small Soldiers." Ben Stiller plays Larry, a divorced father who gets a job as a security guard at the Museum of Natural History in New York.
Little does he know that the exhibits come to life at night from the skeletal Tyrannosaurus, lions and cavemen to a wax statue of Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams), miniature Roman soldiers and cowboys. Other than action scenes enhanced by impressive special effects where Larry and everyone else in the museum run amok, there is scarcely anything to the plot but a rather flat father-and-son bonding story.
