The 12th annual Portobello Film Festival runs from 2-21 August, but to whet our appetites they’ve given us some tasters of what we can expect to see this year. The Festival, which celebrates and showcases the international filmmakers of the future, attracts around 15,000 film lovers eager to see if they can spot the Next Big Thing. Last year John Malkovich popped by to screen his new short film and designer Bella Freud held a fashion show.
This year Julien Temple, who made the Sex Pistols' will put in an appearance, alongside writer/broadcaster Molly Parkin and John Maybury who will be discussing their drinking days with Francis Bacon to accompany Maybury’s film 'Love is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon' , while Nicholas Roeg will introduce a special screening of his cult 70's film The 12th annual Portobello Film Festival runs from 2-21 August, but to whet our appetites they’ve given us some tasters of what we can expect to see this year.
