New York (AHN) - EMI Music signed a broad licensing agreement with Google's YouTube, allowing music and videos on the site. The music publisher said it will also work with YouTube on revenue models and ways to protect copyrights.
"Through this agreement, EMI music and its artists will be fairly compensated for their work," Eric Nicoli, CEO of EMI, said in a statement.

EMI will provide music videos from David Bowie, Coldplay, Norah Jones, as well as YouTube Video Award winners. Google will help EMI find "innovative revenue models" and develop new ways EMI can profit from the YouTube community.
"With this deal, all four of the world's major music companies are now official YouTube partners, Chad Hurley, YouTube's co-founder and CEO, said in a statement.

In a nod to past problems over copyright infringement, EMI said it will use YouTube's content identification and reporting system to ensure artists are compensated.
