Summer of Metal geared for headbangers

It's your summer of love. That is, if you don't mind making your way to Coors Amphitheatre over and over again. It's called the 106.

7 KBPI Summer of Metal Megaticket and it grants you entry to every head-bangin' show at that gargantuan outdoor venue this summer. The idea is that the one-time purchase saves you money (more than $100, according to promoter Live Nation) and ensures that you won't miss any of the pyrotechnic, tattooed bliss. The July-through-August lineup includes Ozzfest (Ozzy Osbourne, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Lordi), and such recently announced shows as Godsmack, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Poison, Ratt, the Family Values tour (Evanescence, Korn, Atreyu, Hellyeah,) and a surprise show.

So what if fewer than half of the acts are actual metal? Or that placing Slayer and Poison in the same category insults them both? For the money, it's a pretty great deal, and you can tell your friends you saw White Lion and Ratt rock the house.

Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

($167, livenation.com) Crowded House and Fountains of Wayne should prove appropriate touring mates when they hit the Fillmore Auditorium on Aug. 22.

Both are shameless popmeisters with weirdly specific knacks for ingratiating melodies. The former is also mounting its first U.S.

tour in 11 years, so expect the nostalgia crew to come out in droves. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m.

Saturday. ($45, Ticketmaster) The Nextfest Tour purports to be a teen tour, but any self-respecting 17- or 18-year-old isn't listening to the shiny, upbeat pop-rock of Aly AJ, Corbin Bleu or Drake Bell. This is the stuff of tweens and preteens, which will probably suit them well because the Disney Channel set rarely gets its own big-venue tour.

Tickets for the July 19 concert at Coors Amphitheatre are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

($39.50, Ticketmaster) Monolith Festival announced additions to its killer indie-rock lineup this week, including Art Brut, Matt Kim, Au Revoir Simone and Editors. Not that the headliners (Flaming Lips, Spoon, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, etc.

) needed any help. Tickets for the Sept. 14-15 festival at Red Rocks are on sale at 10 a.

m. Saturday. ($42.

50-$175, Ticketmaster)
