You know when someone at a party makes a joke, and tumbleweed slowly rolls past?
Not that there aren't a few laughs to be had in Reno 911: Miami - if you appreciate jokes about hicks and homos. Police Academy was a brilliant satire on cop life, this is not.
A plotless movie is fine if you have zippy gags and a great ensemble cast. But the acting here is mediocre and some of the Jackass-style stunts are best left to the experts. Cameos from the Rock and Danny DeVito were probably inserted to give it some Hollywood cred.
Reno 911 still makes you wish you were in a medically induced coma. There were the standard lesbian jokes, guys masturbating, hot chicks snorting coke ..
. in short the kind of stuff the producers can't slap on television in case they have to screen it later and lose their audience of randy teenage boys. I had no expectations going into the movie and it still blew.
Like one of the characters said, it was a big suck fest. Redeeming points were a running gag involving Deputy Clementine Johnson's (Wendi McLendon-Covey) quest to find out the identity of the face she had tattooed on to her breast during a boozy night out, and Thomas Lennon's Lieutenant Jim Dangle, whose tiny shorts and one-liners earned him a few extra chuckles. If you like your humour laced with a serving of topless booby bouncing, then it might be worth watching to kill off some brain cells.
Otherwise stick to Borat.
