Request for easement postponed

The school board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Friday to decide whether to grant Pat Hopkins request for an easement.

According to plans provided by Hopkins, the easement would be to run a water line across undeveloped land behind the school s new gymnasium. Hopkins said the proposed water line route had been marked off, and school board members said they would visit the school to examine it before Friday s meeting. The board voted 5-0 to re-hire the following classified personnel for the 2007-2008 school year: Kenny Barnes, Coveta Blankenship, Cheryl Campbell, Sylvia Clary, Willa Collins, Natisha Egger, Floyd Goldsmith, Dianna Halbmaier, Jacquelyn Heath, Theresa Huebner, V.

Z. Jackson, Emillie Jackson, Mary Johnson, Lila Malott, Richard Merriman, Becky Merriman, Darla Patton, Mike Ramsey, Barry Reese, Betty Reynolds, Sharon Rogers, Robby Rogers, Vemer Saylors, Sandra Sloan, Havle Staggs, Jerrett Staggs, Melisa Thompson, Jody Turner, Tracey Yocham. The school board voted 5-0 to accept the resignations of James Maddox, Karla Thompson, Carolyn Henley and Lance Nichols.

The school board listened to presentations by Community First Bank and Arvest Bank about being the school s banking partner, but the school board voted to table any discussion on the matter until its May 28 meeting.
