Walt Disney Pictures is claiming the six-day opening is now the largest of all-time worldwide, with the $401 million topping the $382 million opening for ldquo;Spider-Man 3 rdquo; earlier in the month.
ldquo;Spider-Man 3, rdquo; of course, opened without the benefit of an associated holiday frame.
Since opening May 25, the third film in the blockbuster buccaneer saga has earned $156 million in the United States, including $142 million for the Memorial Day four-day holiday, which topped the $122.8 million record set last year by ldquo;X-Men: The Last Stand.

It took ldquo;At World rsquo;s End rdquo; five days to top the three-day opening for ldquo;Spider-Man 3, rdquo; which remains the opening weekend record-holder with $151.1 million.
The six-day opening overseas for ldquo;Spider-Man 3 rdquo; was $232 million, a figure ldquo;Pirates 3 rdquo; had topped through Monday with $245 million.
The studio is reporting that ldquo;At World rsquo;s End rdquo; had broken opening-weekend records in a slew of foreign territories, including Korea, Japan, Russia, Spain, Taiwan and the Netherlands.
ldquo;Spider-Man 3 rdquo; remained a distant second overseas with a $20.7 million weekend, breaking its foreign cumulative total to $500.
